Rajeev Bhardwaj, also known on the DJ circuit as Rajeev B, began his musical journey in his childhood years growing up in West London As a youngster, Rajeev B practised the art of playing Dholki and would often get into trouble at school and home for tapping away on tables creating be…ats, mixing one classic song with another. With his early musical influences consisting of the likes of Bally Sagoo, Apache Indian and Michael Jackson, Rajeev B began tapping away beats, remixing them in his head to other classic tunes. Before even touching a turntable for the first time, Rajeev had already began mastering the art of mixing, which would serve him well in his career to date.

“Growing up with an older brother and sister, I was exposed to an older generation of music than my own – old school grooves, dub, Soul, Bhangra Classics, you name it! I used to love hearing old and new music from different genres, and mashing them up with the biggest Bhangra songs of that time…”
Beginning as a bedroom DJ and playing small gigs in the local area, Rajeev was already mixing his Punjabi background with his urban music taste. At first, Rajeev was hesitant to begin playing in clubs and parties – but was soon persuaded by close friends to get out the bedroom and perform for crowds. The buzz of entertaining others propelled Rajeev and motivated him to continue his passion. Very quickly, Rajeev joined Calibar Roadshow in his teens and begun playing out to increasingly larger crowds in the UK wedding scene, gaining popularity and a reputation along the way. The wedding scene couldn’t fulfil Rajeev’s passion for other music, which resulted in Rajeev DJ’ing in some of London’s hottest nightspots, giving clubbers a different DJ altogether.

In 2009, Rajeev continued his journey with the introduction of the new roadshow Kudos Music – a collective of the finest Wedding DJ’s from across the UK mixed with experienced wedding professionals. Being one of the original members of the fledgling Kudos team, the roadshow has quickly taken the industry by storm and now widely regarded as one of the elite, largest and groundbreaking wedding & entertainment companies in the UK. Rajeev B is now firmly established as one of lead DJ’s in the Kudos team – entertaining hundreds of people every weekend, up and down the country. His equal knowledge of both Urban and Asian sounds offers something unique within the multi-talented Kudos team.

The creation of Kudos Studios, later to be merged with the E3UK Record Label, gave Rajeev a direct route into music production. Utilizing his knowledge of what makes a ‘hit track’ on the dance floor, Rajeev began producing remixes, with his most notable remix hit being ‘Chiri Shika’ – which other DJ’s around the country are now using within their own DJ sets.

Now ready for his biggest challenge to-date, Rajeev’s first original studio album ‘The Takeover’ is set for release on Kudos Music/E3UK later in 2011. Featuring the likes of Jelly Manjitpuri, Nirmal Sidhu, Nav Sidhu, Surinder Saini, Late Kaka Bhaniawala and many more. With production that will appeal to the young and old, urban and Asian, Rajeev B hopes to continue his journey and leave his mark in the UK music industry.
