Gitaz Bindrakhia releases 8 track album ‘Jind Mahi’

Introducing Gitaz Bindrakhia, the son of Punjabi singing legend Surjit Bindrakhia. Gitaz continues his fathers legacy by releasing his very own album as a singer entitled ‘Jind Mahi’. The 8 track album features Music by Anu-Manu and lyrics by Shamsher Sandhu who is known for creating some of Surjit Bindrakhia’s biggest hits.

His father’s legacy has left Gitaz in a very privileged position. The famous lyricist, Shamshen Sandhu, who penned many hits for Surjit is rumoured to be working on material for Gitaz’s album. The young singer was also invited to perform at Sandhu’s son’s wedding, sharing the stage with some icons of the Bhangra music industry including Gurdas Maan.

Miss Bollywood Deana Uppal enters Big Brother

Big Brother is back and the first housemate to enter the newly-decorated reality mansion was a young model from Birmingham, Deana Uppal. Deana, the reigning Miss India UK, had barely been in the house for five minutes when she faced Big Brother’s first challenge.

This season’s very first housemate was told by host Brian Dowling that she would have to nominate three of her fellow housemates for eviction live on the show. This shouldn’t stop the pretty lady who has already made it clear that she is not afraid to speak her mind.

Deana, who faced the difficult task of nominating fellow housemates for Friday’s eviction, has won immunity for herself for the week. She nominated Conor McIntyre, Victoria Eisermann and Lydia Louisa to face the eviction later on this week. The young model found it difficult to call out the names, saying: “This is so hard as you’ve all been so nice.”

The 23-year-old beauty has already created waves in the Indian entertainment industry. She was the lead performer in DJ H‘s music video ‘Billo Nach Nach Ke’ Ft Geeta Zaildar, which was shot in Punjab, India. She has also appeared in DJ H’s music video ‘Char Panj’.

The model, who currently lives in Mumbai but has had successful careers in India and the UK, bought her first house at the age of 18. A self confessed hard worker, Deana has made a mark for herself for her driving ambition that has earned her praise and respect in both countries.

Now in the Big Brother house, Deana demands that her fellow housemates allow her an hour to herself a day just so she doesn’t go completely crazy!

Aamir Khan TV show confirmed for Sunday morning slot

Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s debut TV show has been confirmed for a Sunday morning slot on the Star Plus TV network from the first week of May. Details on the upcoming TV show are being kept tightly under wraps, however the song for the programme is due to be revealed today for the first time giving viewers a hint as to what to expect from the project once it finally airs.

Titled, Satyamev Jayate, the Aamir Khan hosted production is expected to follow a talk show format, but with a difference. Each episode runs for 90 minutes and filming for the show has been carried out in various parts of India.

TV channel Star Plus has confirmed that Satyamev Jayate will air on Sunday mornings with the first episode scheduled for 11am May 6th. The TV bosses say they hope to target the family market by scheduling the show on Sunday mornings. The new programme will run for 13 weeks initially, with a second series dependant on the audience reaction to the forthcoming run.

The song which accompanies the new TV show is being released today along with the video. It’s understood that the track is a love song for India with filming for the video taking place in various parts of the country over a three month period.

Shah Rukh Khan in hot water for smoking during IPL cricket match

He may be a Bollywood movie star, but Shah Rukh Khan certainly isn’t above the law as events this week proved as the actor has had a legal complaint filed against him after he was seen smoking during an ILP cricket match last weekend.

Shah Rukh Khan was seen openly smoking during Saturday’s IPL match between the actor’s team, Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals. Khan was seen smoking by millions of TV viewers as the cameras cutaway from the action on the pitch to the crowd, catching the Bollywood star puffing away on a cigarette from the stands at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

A nationwide smoking ban prohibiting anyone from smoking in a public place came into force throughout India in 2008, while an all-out ban prohibiting the advertisement of cigarettes was introduced in the country back in 2000.

A complaint against Shah Rukh Khan has been filed on behalf of Jaipur Cricket Academy director, Anand Singh Rathore, after the actor was seen smoking at the recent cricket match. The complaint also highlights possible failings of security staff at the stadium who were required to search all spectators entering the ground and remove items such as cigarettes.

The complaint is being assessed by the courts, once the matter has been considered they’ll decided whether further action will be taken against the actor or the security staff at the stadium.

Saif Ali Khan claims restaurant brawl was self defence

Bollywood movie star, Saif Ali Khan, was arrested on Wednesday after a South African businessman pressed charges of assault against him. However the well known actor is claiming he acted in self defence and has issued a counter claim against the other man involved in the fight.

It’s understood that Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend, fellow Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor, were dining at the Taj Hotel on Tuesday evening. Sources claim the diner on the table next to theirs, businessman Iqbal Sharma, asked the actors to keep the noise down, and an argument erupted from this point.

On Wednesday evening, actor Saif was arrested by police after Mr Sharma pressed charges against the star for allegedly breaking his nose. The actor was bailed the same evening after paying a bail charge of £194.

Speaking today, Saif Ali Khan says Mr Sharma threw the first punch and that he had simply acted in self defence. While the Agent Vinod actor agreed that he could have handled the situation better, he insisted that he took action to defend himself and did not initiate the assault, adding that “justice will be done.”

This is the second time Saif Ali Khan has been accused of assault, the last incident was in 2008 when it was alleged he was involved in a fight with a journalist.
