One of UK Bhangra’s most dominant DJs, AJD, has now entered the music industry as an executive producer. With his debut single, Magic, AJD infuses his music with the creativity of long-term friends and talented musicians Kaos Productions to bring to the British audience a unique sound in the new song.
AJD has brought several newcomers to the forefront including vocalist Billa Ferozepuria from Punjab, India, and lyricist Deep Ghanauri from Canada. The video, created by established director Guvy Heer, boasts an interesting and vibrant story to lend Magic its visual appeal.
Having composed and written the chorus himself, AJD brought onboard new lyricist, Deep Ghanauri, from Canada, with whom he left the rough idea of Magic that Deep then brought to life in his own words.
With the lyrics completed, AJD went on the search for the right vocalist. Having recently watched videos of a well known competition in India called the “Voice of Panjab”, AJD came across Billa Ferozepuria. Although unable to win the Voice of Punjab contest, Billa was a stand-out contestant, and it was only a matter of time before his vocal ability was brought to the forefront of the Asian music industry. Acting as an agent on his behalf, writer Bhinder Khanpuri searched for Billa Ferozepuria on the request of AJD, to feature on Magic.
Accompanying the release of Magic was the ‘The Magic Single Launch Tour’ which saw AJD tour the UK in order to promote the launch of his debut single as executive producer. AJD also paid a trip to the BBC Asian Network for a guest feature on Bobby Friction’s show where Magic was first played on air. Bobby Friction commented: “Now that was a special set right there”.
