The musical extravaganza that is The Merchants of Bollywood is preparing to make its North American debut ahead of its run at the recently renovated Sony Centre in Toronto.
The high octane show is one of the first productions to grace the stage at the revamped theatre, formerly known as the O’Keffe Centre. The building has been closed for two years as it underwent a $28 million makeover. The theatre was officially reopened at the beginning of the month on the building’s 50th anniversary.
Since its premiere in 2006, The Merchants of Bollywood musical which brings all the glitz glamour and romance of the Bollywood film industry to the stage, has toured the world extensively playing in London, Paris, India and Australia to name but a few countries. However the run at the new Sony Centre will mark the musical’s first appearance in North America.
The cast is made up of over 40 top Bollywood dancers and performers from Mumbai with choreography designed by Vaibhami Merchant and guarantees to offer an action packed night of entertainment.
The Sony Centre boasts a 3,200 seat capacity theatre with selected tickets starting from just $25. The Merchants of Bollywood will be showing at the revamped theatre from November 4th.
