Titled, Satyamev Jayate, the Aamir Khan hosted production is expected to follow a talk show format, but with a difference. Each episode runs for 90 minutes and filming for the show has been carried out in various parts of India.

TV channel Star Plus has confirmed that Satyamev Jayate will air on Sunday mornings with the first episode scheduled for 11am May 6^th. The TV bosses say they hope to target the family market by scheduling the show on Sunday mornings. The new programme will run for 13 weeks initially, with a second series dependant on the audience reaction to the forthcoming run.

The song which accompanies the new TV show is being released today along with the video. It’s understood that the track is a love song for India with filming for the video taking place in various parts of the country over a three month period.

Shah Rukh Khan was seen openly smoking during Saturday’s IPL match between the actor’s team, Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals. Khan was seen smoking by millions of TV viewers as the cameras cutaway from the action on the pitch to the crowd, catching the Bollywood star puffing away on a cigarette from the stands at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

A nationwide smoking ban prohibiting anyone from smoking in a public place came into force throughout India in 2008, while an all-out ban prohibiting the advertisement of cigarettes was introduced in the country back in 2000.

A complaint against Shah Rukh Khan has been filed on behalf of Jaipur Cricket Academy director, Anand Singh Rathore, after the actor was seen smoking at the recent cricket match. The complaint also highlights possible failings of security staff at the stadium who were required to search all spectators entering the ground and remove items such as cigarettes.

The complaint is being assessed by the courts, once the matter has been considered they’ll decided whether further action will be taken against the actor or the security staff at the stadium.

A R Rahman revealed just before Christmas that he’d completed the musical score for the forthcoming movie, People Like Us, and was very enthusiastic about his experience working on the film and about the release of the movie.

People Like Us features an all-star cast which includes Chris Pine of Star Trek fame in the main role, alongside Elizabeth Banks and Michelle Pfeiffer. The Chris Pine character is a hot shot salesman whose father dies at the same time is career hits a stumbling block with the collapse of a big deal. He’s then forced to return home and reconnect with his family following his father’s death, which is when he discovers he has a sister he didn’t know about. The movie follows the main character as he’s forced to re-examine his life and the choices he’s made in light of the events of the movie.

The Academy Award winning composer described the new Hollywood release as being different to many of the movies he’s worked on recently such as CR and 127 Hours as People Like Us has a strong dramatic thread with many emotionally charged scenes.

A R Rahman fans will no doubt be eagerly awaiting the release of People Like Us to sample the latest offering from the famed music maker.

DJ H received the PMA award for Best Sound Recording for the track, Sahan to Pyarian and also Best Non-Resident Punjabi Music Director at the fifth annual Punjabi Music Awards which was held in Jalandhar on March 24^th.

Jazzy B was another big winner on the night after the talented vocalist was named Best Non-Resident Punjabi Vocalist, and also received the award for Best Non Resident Punjabi Album for Maharajas and Best Music Video for Hukam.

Punjabi singer, Garry Sandhu, who recently hit the headlines after he was deported from the UK after he remained in Britain after his visa ran out, was also honoured at this year’s Punjabi Music Awards, winning the trophy for Best Male Debut Vocalist.

The new Walk of the Stars at Bandra’s Bandstand Promenade will allow tourists and Mumabi residents alike to view the sea-facing street lined with paving stones bearing the hand prints of famous Bollywood stars for free.

In addition to the pavement slabs featuring the handprints from the biggest names in the Indian Movie business, the Walk of the Stars will also pay homage to those with legendary status in Bollywood. The life size statues will be made of brass and set on benches up and down the special Mumbai street. Actor and presenter, Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna are all believed to be in line to have a special brass statue made in their image and placed on the Walk of the Stars.

The Kapoor family are believed to me amongst the first to get their hands printed on special paving slabs to line the new Walk of Stars, with Kareena Kapoor expected to officially open the exciting new attractions in Mumbai tomorrow.

The UTV Stars’ Walk of Fame has taken 18 months to create, with TV channel, UTV, only revealing their plans for the creation of the 1.2 mile long walk of fame 5 months ago.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan had been revealed as one of the performers on the night, however it’s now understood Big B will also be hosting the whole event.

Other famous faces from the world of bollywood scheduled to appear at the star studded event early next month include Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan who are all expected to take to the stage to entertain the IPL players and guests at the opening night.

26-year-old Perry is obviously excited at the prospect of performing at the high profile event as the One That Got Away singer took to her Twitter account last week to write, “Put on your dancing shoes, I’m all set to bring it @ IPL Opening Night!” The American pop star is no stranger to India as she chose to wed her now ex husband, Russell Brand, in the country back in 2010 after the couple first got engaged in India while on holiday.

David Guetta travelled to India for a flying visit at the beginning of March, playing three exclusive gigs in the country before jetting off again to the UK where he was scheduled to undertake a number of performances, including TV and club night appearances.

If the rumours are true about a collaboration between RDB and David Guetta, it won’t be the first time the well known bhangra stars have linked up with a Western artist. In the past RDB have worked with US rapper Snoop Dogg writing the title track for the 2008 Bollywood movie, Singh is Kinng which was performed by Snoop in the movie. The RDB guys also hooked up with Ludacris on a separate project.

According to recent reports, RDB are working on their hotly anticipated new album which the bhangra band hopes to release this summer. RDB are reportedly working with a number of international artists on tracks for the new album, one of whom may well be David Guetta.

The actor and presenter underwent an operation in Mumbai in February to investigate an abdominal complaint. The star spent time in hospital recovering after the surgery, but is now back at home and understood to be making progress.

Medical experts have advised Big B that he will be well enough to return to work by the beginning of April. To mark his return to acting duties, Bachchan will appear at the IPL gala on April 3^rd, which will celebrate the launch of the masala.org.uk”title=”" >Indian Premier League Season 5. The Bollywood legend is set to perform a poem written especially for the occasion by the writer and lyricist, Prasson Joshi.

Writing in Twitter, the well know actor informed his followers that he was already preparing for his return to public life, adding that he was “nervous as hell” which just goes to show that even seasoned performers such as Amitabh Bachchan get the jitters at the prospect of appearing at such as high profile event.
