Garry Sandhu, the Brit Asia award winning singer has been arrested by the UK Border Agency for violating UK immigrations laws. It is revealed that he has not honoured his status to leave the country on a voluntary basis after not having the right to stay in the UK.

Gurmukh Singh Sandhu (Garry Sandhu), the winner of the Best Newcomer and Best Male Act at the recent Brit Asia Awards 2011, was arrested and taken into custody on 27th October 2011.
Garry Sandhu has given the following statement to bhangra.org:
“After recent false accusations made against me, I still continue to do what I love best in providing the fans that I love dearly with my music. I can not control peoples actions and I am at the top of my game expect haters to hate, but in the end the truth sets any man free! And this is what you will see in the coming days. For I cannot lie to those I love or to my fans they are most important in my life! As an individual I was taught to be cautious now after allowing negative people into my life, that have taken advantage. Thank you for those who have supported me and I will not stop doing what I enjoy!!! Love you all and be safe.”

DESIblitz.com has confirmed the arrest after receiving an email statement from the UK Border Agency. Toby Allanson from the UK Border Agency in the statement said:
“We can confirm an Indian national was detained yesterday in the West Midlands area. When someone is found not to have a right to remain in the UK, we expect them to leave voluntarily. If they fail to do so, we will seek to enforce their removal.”

Gary Sandhu is undoubtedly one of the most talented artists in the industry currently and has enjoyed a lot of commercial success, may God give him more. However, we should not ignore the fact that immigration laws have been breached, that is something we should be united against. just because we may like him as an artist or as a person, it doesn’t make it ok for him to break the law. Gary should have gone down the correct routes to allow him further stay in the UK. Supporting an artist is one thing but disregard for laws that are set up to protect us is quite another, lets not get them confused. We must continue to support our music industry but also oppose violation of laws of any kind. I wish Gary luck and hope he can legitimately be allowed to stay if he satisfies all the conditions.

To all loyal Garry Sandhu fans, no offence but uve all been deceived by him.
