Offlicence have released a brand new single titled ‘2GB Di Kudi’ produced by Musicmanny.
Producer Manny is already an established figure in the UK bhangra industry, having been a part of the highly successful record production team ‘Illegal Demo’.
‘2GB Di Kudi’ showcases Offlicence’s trademark style and originality by bringing in new concepts and representing the multicultural mix that makes up modern Britain. Since the chart-topping ‘Ghaint Patola’, ‘2GB Di Kudi’ is Offlicence’s first release.
The name for the song is inspired from the popular nickname in India, 2GB (2 Gigabyte), used to gently poke fun at girls who over use social technology such as mobile phones, laptops, social networking apps etc.
Offlicence were approached to film at an official Olympic football stadium, which will play host to 12 football matches for London 2012. The lads were happy to take on the opportunity to support the Games, and to help raise awareness of the participation of Asians in football.
Sunny J from Offlicence said: “We’re so excited to contribute to London 2012 and to have filmed at an official Olympic venue is a massive honour for us. Filming the video was absolutely incredible”
The music video is based around the signing of an international footballer and a female media reporter (2GB) whose beauty catches the footballer’s attention.
Directed by Daniel Alexander Films, the video features female presenter Kelly Schembri as the 2GB reporter, along with actors Rochelle Frost (Wag), Marcus Milne (Manager), Gurpreet Atwal (Director) and the Gabhru Panjab De Academy dance group.
Offlicence will be performing at the UK’s biggest FREE family event – The Godiva Festival 2012 – attracting over 85,000 people on Sunday 1 July and will showcase their new single live at the event.
‘2GB Di Kudi’ is now available for download via iTunes.
