A brand new TV miniseries is coming to your screens in the New Year courtesy of Imagine TV. The reality show will follow one Punjabi family as they prepare for a big family wedding.
Imagine TV says that 5 families have been shortlisted for the role on the real-life television series. The families in the running are based throughout the Punjab region, including Delhi and also more rural districts. However, only one family can star in the show, and the TV company says they are in the process of auditioning the families in order to find the group which has “the best camera profile” to be featured in the show.
The show will begin shooting next month with the series, which has the working title of Punjabi Family Hunt, will be aired in India from March. The show is due to be shown in the UK as well, but as yet a release date in the UK has not been announced.
The reality television series will follow the chosen family over a 45 day period leading up to the wedding, the event itself, and a short while afterwards. The programme hopes to gain an accurate and in depth insight into the Punjabi wedding itself, and how the important event affects different members of the family in different ways.
