Bobby Friction will present the first ever radio show dedicated to the Asian Music Download Chart
The first ever download chart dedicated to music of an Asian origin will launch next month the BBC Asian Network has revealed.
The chart will be compiled by the same organisation which creates the UK top 40, The Official Charts Company. A brand new show will be aired every Sunday running down the top 20 most downloaded Asian tracks of the week. The show will take over from the current Saturday broadcast on the BBC Asian network called Buzz Chart which features opinions on the best songs of the week.
Download sales are the biggest source of record sales in the UK music industry. Recent figures released by The Official Charts Company revealed that downloads are responsible for 98% of all single sales.
The new 3-hour long chart show will be hosted by Bobby Friction and will feature special guests as well as a great deal on interaction with listeners. It’s also been revealed that the show will have a strong connection with Mumbai and what’s happening in the music scene out there.
The first radio broadcast featuring the official top 20 most downloaded Asian tracks of the week will hit the airwaves on March 27th between 3pm -6pm. Plus a full run down of the top 40 chart will also be available to view each Saturday on the BBC Asian Network website.
