Birmingham to hold Music Builds Bridges festival this summer

Birmingham's Victoria Square will play host to the Music Builds Bridges event this summer

Birmingham will play host his summer to a brand new musical event. The International World Music and Dance Festival Charity Fundraiser is the brainchild of well known local artist and passionate charity campaigner King G Mall.

The festival aims to give a platform to talented performers from all disciplines and backgrounds living in the Birmingham area. Aptly named the Music Build Bridges festival, it is hoped the event will unite people of different cultures from the city through song and dance.

The open air show will be held at Victoria Square on Saturday July 3rd from 12pm-6pm. The show itself will feature performers across a wide spectrum with everyone from bhangra singers and dancers, break dancers, rappers, musicians, soloists and folk-dancers taking part in the event.

Organisers of the first ever Music Builds Bridges festival would very much like to make it an annual event, and also hope that the introduction of such an occasion will go some way to helping Birmingham in its bid to become the Capital of Culture in 2013.

As well as the best of locally grown talent, a host of international stars are expected to appear on stage during the 6 hour marathon of non-stop entertainment. 4 charities will also benefit from the event as they will have a platform to increase awareness of their cause, as well as raising much needed funds during the show.
