Panjabi by Nature teams up with DCS bhangra band for new single release

Top bhangra music maker, Panjabi by Nature (PBN), has teamed up with world renowned bhangra band, DCS, for his brand new single release, Sadi Gal Hor Yah.

The latest PBN single is the second release from the music producer’s forthcoming album. The new studio album from PBN, Me, Myself and Music, will be the hit maker’s sixth album and the bhangra star has big plans for the new record as he hopes to release it internationally to appeal to an audience outside of the UK where he is already a recognized name.

PBN is no stranger to collaborations having worked alongside musical heavy weights such as the queen of bhangra, Miss Pooja, and leading British Asian vocalist, H-Dhami in the past.

Despite having working with some top names from the music industry previously, PBN couldn’t hide his delight at the news he would be collaborating with leading bhangra band, DCS, writing on Twitter that he has been hoping to make music with the live group for some time.

DCS have a long and distinguished history in the music business spanning almost 30 years. Lead singer Shin has long been regarded as one of the best British Asian vocal talents having come to international acclaim through the band’s energetic live performances which have seen them tour the world.

The new single from PBM featuring DCS was released on iTunes on November 10th along with the upbeat music video featuring the two acts. Check out the new PBM single, Sadi Gal Hor Yah, and tell us if you think it has the potential to be a dance floor filler.

Chart topping music producer Panjabi By Nature (PBN) is riding high after the first two singles off his new album Crowd Pleaser stormed the charts in quick succession, now the Wolverhampton based music maker is hoping it’ll be third time lucky with his latest track.

The brand new video for PBN’s new single Kaun Nachdi has been released and is proving popular with bhangra fans. PBN has recently been signed up as the face of bespoke menswear specialist Julian Trivedi and two of the designer’s looks are featured in the music video.

The hit maker cuts a sharp figure in a stylish black blazer in one of the shots in the video, and is later seen in traditional Indian attire dressed in a red shervani, both looks were created by the top name designer.

PBN made his vocal debut on the track Sohni Lagdi off his previous album Homegrown last year. The move into singing proved so successful amongst music fans and critics alike, that the music producer decided to take to the mic again for the new single Kaun Nachdi.

Earlier in the year, PBN made history after his track Kaun Nee Jaandau became the first bhangra song to achieve the number one spot on the Official Asian Download Chart. The following single also hit the top spot, and now PBN is hoping his run of luck will continue with the new track Kaun Nachdi.

PBN make it to number one on the Official Asian Download Chart

This week's offical number one on the Asian Download Chart is PBN's Kaun Nee Jaandah

Last week we reported how bhangra producer PBN (Panjabi By Nature) was vying for the number one spot on the Official Asian Download Chart with their single Kaun Nee Jaandah. We are now happy to announce that PBN did it and have become the first bhangra single to top the chart since it was launched at the end of March.

PBN’s hit featuring Dhol Foundation and Daljit Mattu was announced as the most downloaded Asian track of the week on the Saturday’s chart show which is hosted by Bobby Friction. Jay Sean, who was last week’s number one, dropped 12 places.

The hit song, which was released early off PBN’s forthcoming album, makes history twice as it is the first bhangra single to top the new chart, and it is the first bhangra track to reach a number one on the UK’s iTunes World Chart.

The new album from Panjabi By Nature, Crowd Pleaser, is currently undergoing the final touches and will be ready for release by the summer.

The top name bhangra producer is also up for two awards at the Brit Asia Music Awards 2010 which are due to take place this coming weekend. PBN is nominated for Best Producer, and Best Album. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony being held at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on Sunday night.
