H-Dhami wows the crowds in New York

British Asian bhangra singer H-Dhami wowed the crowds in New York last week after being invited to perform at one of the biggest bhangra nights in the city.

The top name singer took to the stage at the Basement Bhangra event organised by DJ Rekha. In the audience to cheer him on was H-Dhami’s long time friend and collaborator, Rishi Rich.

In a recent interview the singer said he enjoyed his trip to New York, not just for the experience of performing at one of the biggest bhangra nights in the Big Apple, but also to spend time with Rishi Rich who has long since championed the rising star. H-Dhami explained that he’s not been able to catch up with the music maker for some time as he’s been away from London working in the States.

The duo made the most of their time together and enjoyed a night out on the town partying in Time Square. Both bhangra stars kept their fans up to date on their New York antics by taking to Twitter to let everyone know what a great time they were having.

H-Dhami was a big hit with the packed out crowd at Basement Bhangra. There was a great atmosphere as the gig took place on Thanksgiving Eve which is one of the biggest party nights in the US. As well as belting out a few bhangra classics, the singer also performed two tracks which he collaborated on with leading music producer Panjabi By Nature, including Gereh Kad Dee and a remixed version of Nachdi Vekhna.
