Bollywood’s Kareena Kapoor plans to marry by the end of 2012

Leading Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has revealed she plans to marry her partner of 5 years by the end of the year, ending speculation that she and fellow actor Saif Ali Khan were planning to tie the knot this month.

It had been widely reported that Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan would get married in March after the release of their movie, Agent Vinod, which stars both actors and is produced by Khan. However the 31-year-old Bollywood beauty has poured cold over this theory, revealing in a recent interview that she won’t be getting hitched any time soon due to work commitments.

Kareena Kapoor is currently filming Madhur’s Bhandarkar’s Heroine and so her time is taken up with shooting, meaning there’s no way she’ll be walking down the aisle in March. Speaking about her current film role in Heroine, the actress hinted that her character is particularly complex and is something of a challenge to portray, a challenge nonetheless that Kapoor is delighted to take on and prove her skills as an actress.

Speaking during a recent visit to Mumbai for the India Today Conclave, Kareena Kapoor revealed she and Saif Ali Khan will finally get married, “hopefully by the end of the year…” before adding that she and Khan, who’ve been dating since 2007, won’t be naming the date officially due to movie commitments.

Saif Ali Khan hints at out of court settlement following hotel brawl

The Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan, hinted that he is hoping to settle his recent dispute with a South African businessman out of court after the two men both lodged complaints with the police accusing each other of physical assault.

The well known actor hit the headlines last week after he was involved in an altercation with businessman, Iqbal Sharma, at the Taj Palace Restaurant in Mumbai; immediately after the fight Khan insisted that he had acted in self defence.

This week however, the Bollywood star spoke out to publically apologise for the incident saying, “I would like to apologise for what happened and for what everyone saw.” Saif Ali Khan said he is “in talks” with Mr Sharma, who has since returned to South Africa to attend to his business affairs, adding that he hopes to “sort it out amongst ourselves more constructively.”

A source close to the star claims Khan is keen to draw a line under the whole incident and dispel any negative publicity ahead of the release of his eagerly anticipated movie, Agent Vinod, which is due out on March 23rd. The movie has been produced by Khan, and also stars the Bollywood actor in the title role opposite his real life girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor.

The 41-year-old actor has denied that the hotel brawl as a publicity stunt ahead of the release of Agent Vinod, stressing that his movie doesn’t need to resort to cheap tricks for self promotion.

Saif Ali Khan claims restaurant brawl was self defence

Bollywood movie star, Saif Ali Khan, was arrested on Wednesday after a South African businessman pressed charges of assault against him. However the well known actor is claiming he acted in self defence and has issued a counter claim against the other man involved in the fight.

It’s understood that Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend, fellow Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor, were dining at the Taj Hotel on Tuesday evening. Sources claim the diner on the table next to theirs, businessman Iqbal Sharma, asked the actors to keep the noise down, and an argument erupted from this point.

On Wednesday evening, actor Saif was arrested by police after Mr Sharma pressed charges against the star for allegedly breaking his nose. The actor was bailed the same evening after paying a bail charge of £194.

Speaking today, Saif Ali Khan says Mr Sharma threw the first punch and that he had simply acted in self defence. While the Agent Vinod actor agreed that he could have handled the situation better, he insisted that he took action to defend himself and did not initiate the assault, adding that “justice will be done.”

This is the second time Saif Ali Khan has been accused of assault, the last incident was in 2008 when it was alleged he was involved in a fight with a journalist.

Bollywood power couple to marry in early 2012

It’s the news we’ve been eagerly awaiting for some time, but Bollywood power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have finally ended their silence over their relationship and have confirmed their plans to marry in early 2012.

The announcement has ended months of media speculation that a Bollywood wedding was on the cards as the couple have been dating for a considerable length of time, with many believing that the pair were planning to take their relationship to the next level by tying the knot.

Saif Ali Khan has now made the news official by revealing in an interview his plans to marry the Bollywood beauty in either February or March of 2012. It seems their movie careers have been to blame for pushing back their wedding date as the release of Saif’s own production, starring Kareena Kapoor, Agent Vinod, was due for release in December but this has now been postponed until January.

The groom-to-be added that he and Kareena plan to marry as soon as the movie gets its release, although he admitted that if the release date gets moved again, they won’t be postponing the wedding beyond March 2012, so the biggest Bollywood wedding of the year will definitely be taking place in the coming months.

As yet, there’s been no further word on where the wedding will take place, although we anticipate that the big day will be lavish affair with the biggest names in Bollywood attending the celebrations.
