The tributes have been pouring in from all corners following the sad news of Kuldeep Manak’s passing yesterday. Fans and fellow Punjabi performers have been visiting the late singer’s home to pay their condolences following Ustad Kuldeep Manak’s death yesterday. The singer had been battling liver cancer but was diagnosed with pneumonia in the last few weeks.
Top name bhangra singer Jazzy B worked with Manak on his most recent album, Maharajas, and was one of the stars to visit the departed singer’s home yesterday and one of the first to pay his respects describing Manak as a father figure saying: “Kuldeep Manak was a strong pillar of Punjabi music industry, and to me, a father figure. Whatever I am today is all because of him. His demise has left a void in our lives.” Other big names from the world of Punjabi music visited Kuldeep’s home yesterday including Surinder Chinda, Daljeet Dosanjh and Ranjeet Mani.
The Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, also addressed the sad news of the Punjabi folk singer’s death in a message of condolence describing Manak as “legendary” before adding that the star’s passing had left a huge void in the world of Punjabi music which would not be easily filled.
Many other artists took to Twitter to send their messages of love and support to the Ustad Kuldeep Manak’s wife, son, and daughter who he leaves behind. Singer H-Dhami wrote, “RIP Ustad Kuldip Manak Ji – A legend who’s voice touched millions of hearts & an icon that will never be forgotton – can’t believe it… Love x’ while Tigerstyle had this to say, Biggest inspiration in Punjabi folk music has sadly left us. RIP Kuldip Manak ji, Kaliyan de Badshah!
