Nirmal Sidhu
Nirmal Sidhu describes himself as a singer, music director and composer. He became interested in music as a child and took up every opportunity to perform in local and school events. In an attempt to get closer to his goal of a career as a professional Bhangra artist, Nirmal attended University and studied towards a Masters degree in Vocal and Instrumental studies.

He launched his professional singing career with the album Tere Darsham Karkey which went on to become a big hit. He has since released a further 6 albums, his latest of which, entitled Nai Jeena, will be available from autumn 2009. Nirmal has undergone a makeover to coincide with the release of his new record. As part of the new sophisticated image the singer is now sporting sharp suits and sunglasses.
As well his solo work, Nirmal has also been involved in some successful collaborations. He’s teamed up with Bhangra’s best selling female singer, Miss Pooja on the track Char Panj, and big name artists DJ H and DJ Rags on the album Reloaded. He has also provided the vocals on a song for Moneyspinners’ new release; one critic described the track, Led Ode Desh Panjb Di, which is the last song on the album as “a final masterstroke.”
Nirmal has been very vocal about his dislike of vulgar music videos and offensive lyrics which have been featured in some Punjabi influenced music. He believes it is detrimental to the reputation of Punjabi culture.
